My favorite Green website is Bellzar.com, it gives 100% of its profits to cure cancer, saves energy with a black screen, and for every 10,000 searches they plant a tree.
I love initiatives like this, so I was wondering if you all knew of anything else that was cool and "green".
Cheers
Can a mayor issue ordinances that set regulations on energy and where it comes from?
What do you think is the most important initiative that the U.S. government is doing to “Go Green” and why?
So I Just Read This;
The first initiative calls for a return to the good old days of rock concert lineups where 300 GA standing section tickets will ONLY be available to fans who lineup at designated outlets (for a list of each city’s outlet please refer below*). Each person will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets each; essentially meaning the first 150 people in line will be guaranteed the hottest tickets in town.
Does This Mean That The First People To Line Up At The Venue On The Day Get The Tix??
I find it amazing that the GOP is suddenly GOING GREEN... Conservatives are now concerned about the environmental impacts of Chicago hosting the Olympics in 2016....the Republican Party sets no limits on their hypocrisy when it comes to defeating an OBAMA initiative.
I am doing an initiative for school that will inform the students of the school while also promoting better "green" habits. But it seems like half the people in the school don't care.
2012 - Unemployment is at 6%, the Dow Jones is over 12,000. The manufacturing sector has recovered, and is moving forward with green technologies.
Deficits have gone down, and the return to surpluses are in the near future. Income tax has stayed the same for singles making $200,000 or less. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are over, and Democracy, while struggling is surviving.
Healthcare is available for everyone, no one is rejected healthcare or is bankrupt because of paying for it, and the costs to the taxpayers have been minimalized.
Barack Obama has succeeded
OR....
Barack Obama fails in every initiative. America is failing, and in a depression.
Conservatives were right about Obama.
Thus we contribute to the following:
- promotion of the composting which is neglected by our farmers as a simple and inexpensive way to produce fertilizer
- A list of those participating in composting from 5 villages near Krtulj will be drawn up. The green marketplace in Krtulj will be also included in the composting.
- Giving an incentive and self-initiative to other interested participants to start composting;
Which will yield more job prospects in the future? With globalization and green energy initiatives...both are highly relevant- which will yield higher job prospects?
list some eco- conscious beheavior that you should develop to protect nature, explain how you wolud benefit from living in a greener, eco-friendly society?
I have a male friend at my school. We're both seventeen. However, I'm in the year below him, for a bunch of reasons that I don't feel like going into here. Suffice it to say that he's in Year Twelve, I'm in Year Eleven. We are, however, in the same music class, and we were in the school musical together. This is all back-story, by the way.
Now, I have developed a minor crush on him. It's nothing major, it's not like oh-my-god-we're-totally-soul-mates love, but I'd really quite like to go out with him. However, if he doesn't fancy me, I can quite easily stop liking him, at least in a crush-y way. I only seem to crush on guys who I know I have a chance with, which is highly useful to my self-esteem.
A mutual acquaintance (from the musical) told me that I've "caught [the] eye" of this guy, who I am going to call Bob for clarity's sake, although that isn't actually his name. However, he also thought that I'd "caught the eye" of another friend of mine, which I know is untrue.
Back to Bob, though. We're quite good friends. However, he is really very confusing to me. Some days we talk for hours about everything - we have had a few "deep and meaningful" conversations about Life, the Universe and whatnot - and some days he barely talks to me at all. He'll go from kinda flirty one minute to treating me like one of the blokes the next, to asking me for a girl's perspective on things (he recently asked what "gets girls off", of all things!). He used to hug me a fair amount, but it's tapered off a lot recently, possibly for something which happened at the musical afterparty, which I shall outline in the next paragraph.
At the afterparty, two weeks ago, the alcohol was flowing fairly freely. Bob had a fair amount to drink, and I had a small-to-moderate amount (I know we're not eighteen yet, spare the lecture! ;) ) and we ended up sitting in the same armchair, constantly doing the "looking each other in the eye, looking away and blushing" thing, and talking about pointless topics, like socks. At one stage he said that he "likes that I don't care what people think" (a point I corrected him on in our last deep-and-meaningful, since I most definitely do care what people think). We also ended up holding hands for about ten minutes - I took the initiative, but he certainly didn't seem to mind. Admittedly, he was - like I said - moderately intoxicated.
Bob left the party before I did, and when he left we hugged. I kissed him on the cheek/jaw/neck area (fuelled by the alcohol, I suspect), and he kissed me on the lower neck, muttering "I am so drunk," as he did.
Since then, he's been more shy towards me at school (except for the aforementioned getting-off conversation!), and he hasn't hugged me once. We still talk a bit in IM conversations, and we might chat when sitting in the same group, but other than that - nothing.
Do you think he likes me?
If he does like me, is there anything I can do to give him the "green light" without being too obvious? I'm already flirting a bit, but my style of flirting is quite subtle.
Please help! :)
Just to clarify: He knows I hadn't had much alcohol and wasn't very drunk - indeed, he said that I was "only tipsy". I don't think that he was particularly drunk either, although he was more so than me.
This is a small apartment building. It has a tiny lobby which should be locked, but isn't because the door lock is broken and has been broken for months. One apartment, easily viewable from the outside, is suddenly empty and now someone has performed a nasty act, leaving a very smelly green goop on the bottom of a kitchen-style trash bin just inside the lobby door. I suspect a former tenant performed an act of revenge. The turnover in the building is high. I've already called the landlord, but should I also call the cops on my own initiative? Surely it's a crime to dump what I'm almost certain are human wastes into a residential building facility, quite aside from the trespassing.
The trash bin is *always* in the tiny lobby, and nearly always a bit filled with discarded junk mail or other normal trash. Human wastes are very abnormal given this normal pattern.
We had some guys come around and replace our incandescent bulbs in our home with fluoro ones about 2 weeks ago......they had 'Go Green' badges and said it was a govt funded initiative - just want to see if anyone else has been approached and where....we're out in Werribee, Vic.

What do the Nile River, Copacabana Beach and Sydney Harbor have in common? All three have been targeted for clean up, along with hundreds of other sites worldwide, when 35 million volunteers from 122 countries take part in this year’s Clean Up the World Weekend—celebrated globally every September—which is part of the ongoing Clean Up the World campaign.
The campaign, held in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), has grown steadily since it first began in 1993. Activities range from cleaning up small villages to overhauling entire countries. Many communities also implement recycling and educational programs, or initiate water and energy conservation projects.
Since the start of the campaign, Clean Up the World members worldwide have collected an estimated 3,574,991 tons of trash—enough to fill 5,710 Olympic-size swimming pools. Plastic, glass, metal and cigarette butts are among the most commonly found items every year.
“From the world’s iconic sites to the sites of significance to remote local communities, Clean Up the World campaign brings people together in a meaningful activity that changes their lives and environment for the better,” said campaign Chairman and Founder Ian Kiernan, Recipient of the Order of Australia, in a press release.
How It All Began
The Clean Up the World campaign started in 1989 when Kiernan, an Australian solo-yachtsman and builder was appalled by the amount of garbage he came across while sailing. He organized a clean up of the Sydney Harbor, during which some 40,000 volunteers removed rusted car bodies, plastic, glass bottles and cigarette butts from the water.
The campaign went global in 1993, with Sydney becoming the headquarters for the Clean Up the World campaign. Today, the organization brings together hundreds of members from around the world, ranging from local community groups to national campaigns, that carry out environmental projects throughout the year. The Clean Up the World Weekend, held in September each year, has the highest participation of all of the organization’s activities.
“Clean Up the World mobilizes people around a powerful idea—taking the challenge of environment and sustainable development to our front doors, our backyards, and everywhere else around the globe,” said UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner in a press release. “It comes with another idea that UNEP strongly believes in: that what we consider waste and rubbish today could become a resource for tomorrow.”
A Global Effort
Clean Up the World is truly a global campaign. Of 624 Clean Up the World members in 2006, 207 come from Africa; 171 from Asia-Pacific; 82 from Europe; 138 from Latin America and the Caribbean; 11 from North America; and 16 from West Asia.
The countries with the highest participation in the Clean Up the World campaign this year are India, Nigeria, Argentina and Kenya. The countries participating in the Clean Up the World campaign for the first time in 2006 are Afghanistan, Albania, Guyana and Latvia.
The following are just a sample of Clean Up the World activities that are taking place this weekend:
· Volunteers from fourteen countries across the Mediterranean Sea will engage in a wide range of activities, from underwater clean ups to environmental parades, in a joint effort to promote greener living in the region.
· In Egypt, the Arab Office for Youth and the Environment is focusing on the Clean Up the Nile initiative with 17 cities participating. The campaign seeks to highlight the importance of the Nile River for agriculture and development in a region prone to desertification.
· School children, divers, snorkellers and community volunteers will be cleaning up the world-famous Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This clean up event is coordinated by Brazil’s popular TV show “Programa Na Praia” (“On the Beach”), which raises environmental awareness across the country.
· On the island of Newfoundland, off Canada’s Atlantic coast, Ocean Net volunteers will celebrate the 1000th marine clean up conducted since the group’s establishment in 1997 with underwater and beach clean ups at Topsail Beach.
· In the Chinese City of Shaoxing, situated in the Yangtze River delta, about 100 cycling enthusiasts will collect roadside rubbish during a bike ride on Clean Up the World weekend, targeting plastic bags and drink containers in particular.
· In Australia, where the Clean Up the World campaign started, volunteers will remove rubbish from the Sydney Harbor and Lane Cove National Park. Dozens more Australian volunteers will work with overseas communities as far as Ghana, the Philippines and the Kingdom of Tonga to help improve local environment and livelihoods, promoting this Australia-based campaign across the world.
“Many communities across the globe have faced uncertainty over the past year,” Kiernan said. “Clean Up the World is an opportunity to break down geographical a

That's over 124 BILLION dollars in pork.
I'm especially fond of the 75 million to pay for salaries in the FBI. Were their projections so bad that they are already out of money, or is this evidence of Obama re-instating the failed Clinton policy of treating the Global War on Terror as a police activity?
How about another 650 billion to allow people to buy TV converters for the switch to digital. I never spent my expired coupons- how many other people ordered them and didn't spend them? How much money has fallen through the cracks on this already?
400 million to prevent STD's. I have one comment- zip up your fly- it'll save us 400 million dollars.
Lastly 2 BILLION DOLLARS to fund a clean coal plant that has already been deemed a failure.
3 Million for the First Lady's closet re-do
I would like to program a prompt that confirms that it is necessary to print what you are about to print on a few work computers, as part of a green initiative. Is there a way to do this?
I would like it to be something similar to when Word asks you "Do you want to save the changes to...?"
Thank you in advance.

To Whom It May Concern:
Being an environmentally-conscious college student, I have a strong desire to advance the cause of sustainable development in communities across the globe. That is why I was excited to learn that your organization has an operations and outreach intern position open. With my previous work experience and a passion to create a greener world, I am sure you will find me a viable candidate for this internship.
In past jobs, I did many of the same tasks that are required of an operations and outreach intern. During my time at the National Science Resources Center, I helped plan an event where the company’s educational products were marketed to various clients across the world. In doing so, I learned to maintain contact databases, complete logistical work, distribute company brochures, and do other general administrative tasks like faxing material and keeping in contact with our clients. As a Community Assistant, I cared for the needs of several hundreds of students in the dorm community I worked in. This included doing database work on students, making routine calls to students about various dorm issues, distributing college material, and working with higher officials in the Resident Life department.
This internship will fulfill my yearning to help the environment, which has grown over the past year. In college, I am studying civil engineering with a focus on the environment to learn how to better our world through a technical lens. With this knowledge, I hope to later get involved in environmental public policy on the federal and international levels to foster more aggressive environmental initiatives.
Hopefully this brief letter has grabbed your interest. A resume and writing sample is also provided to give you a better idea of my qualifications. I welcome the opportunity to have an interview to answer any questions. Thank you for your consideration and I hope to speak with you in the future.
Sincerely,

What do you think?
He has no business, financial or retail experience and yet he claims to have laid out a business plan fo GM to make then a leaner business I suppose just like the federal government. He is going to change over the federal automotive fleet to meet the "green" initiative. Does this mean the government is going to sell the government vehicle without competitive bids from the other companies? We have a president who is at this time so far over his head that if we can survive as a country it going to take getting the Democrats out of Washington as quick as possible.
It is discouraging to find so many posters suffering from H.I.A.D. He has no advisers that have any experience in anything but academia and politics that is the entire problem. Also he has now supassed Bush and his entire actions are all his.
I am 15, and this is my personal opinion about the Green Initiative: It has been blown out of proportion. The earth's climate is cyclical, and we even have proof. There were oceans in Africa, as we can see from finding fish and sea-life fossilized remains in the Sahara Desert. Plus, we know of at least four major-to-minor 'Ice Ages.' This has happened throughout history. I think the only reason why everyone is going green is because there are TONS of people invested in this misleading idea. And no one for sure knows wether we are going through a stage of global cooling or warming; we really have no recent precedent, because we have only monitored the world's weather system in detail for the past 200 years. I think those investors want to try to fool the public, by feeding them misleading information and distorted facts. The are distorted because there is NO precedent. I think the Green Initiative is a waste of money, specifically tax payers' money in America, and needs to be ended. Who cares if the 'big investors' loose everything? This is a big scam to gather the tax payers' money; they won't quit because they are in too deep, and will loose everything that they've put in. What do you believe?
*And no, for those of you who think I am only looking for opinions to match my own, that is a false assumption. I would like to hear all sides of the story. This is a controversial subject, and I may disagree with some, but is it always polite to acknowledge the other side of the disagreement.*
Do you think the liberals around here will CHEER my initiative or complain?
...in his campaign?

Written by an unknown Pastor's Wife, and brilliantly said:
And it came to pass in the Age of Insanity that the people of the land called America, having lost their morals, their work initiative, and their will to defend their liberties, chose as their Supreme Leader that person known as "The One". He emerged from the vapors with a message that had no meaning; but He hypnotized the people telling them, "I am sent to save you. My lack of experience, my questionable ethics, my monstrous ego, and my association with evil doers are of no consequence. For I shall save you with Hope and Change. Go, therefore, and proclaim throughout the land that he who preceded me is evil, that he has defiled the nation, and that all he has built must be destroyed."
And the people rejoiced, for even though they knew not what "The One" would do, he had promised that he would bring change, and they proclaimed "Yes We Can".
And "The One" said "We live in the greatest country in the world. Help me change everything about it!"
And the people said, "Hallelujah!! Change is good!"
Then He said, "We are going to tax the rich fat-cats,"---- And the people said "Sock it to them!" "---- and "Redistribute their wealth.."
And then He said, "Redistribution of wealth is good for everybody" And the people said, "Show us the money!"
And Joe the plumber asked, "Are you kidding me? You're going to steal my money and give it to the deadbeats??"
And "The One" ridiculed and taunted him, and Joe's personal records were hacked, publicized, and ridiculed; though no crime could be found.
One lone reporter asked, "That shouldn't be, isn't that Marxist policy?" And she was banished from the kingdom!
Then a citizen asked, "With no foreign relations experience and having zero military experience or knowledge, how will you deal with radical terrorists?" And "The One" said, "Simple. I shall sit with them and talk kindly to them and show them how nice we really are; and they will forget that they ever wanted to kill us all!"
And the people said, "Hallelujah!! We are safe at last, and we can beat our weapons into free cars for the people!"
Then "The One" said, "I shall give 95% of you lower taxes."
And one, lone voice said, "But 40% of us don't pay ANY taxes."
So "The One" said, "Then I shall give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!"
And the people said, "Hallelujah!! Show us the money!"
Then "The One" said, "I shall tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!"
And the people yawned and the already slumping housing market fully collapsed.
And He said, "I shall mandate employer-funded health care for EVERY worker and raise the minimum wage, and lower the white collar wage. And I shall also give every person unlimited healthcare and medicine and even transportation to the free clinics."
And the people said, "Give me some of that!"
Then he said, "I shall penalize employers who ship jobs overseas."
And the people said, "Where's my rebate check?"
Then "The One" said, "I shall bankrupt the coal industry, and perhaps even the oil industry (Cap & Trade/Carbon Tax) and though electricity rates will skyrocket, we shall soon build wind farms and solar power stations and drive green cars that I shall mandate in Detroit!"
And the people said, "Coal is dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don't care for that part about higher electric rates."
So "The One" said, "Not to worry. If your rebate ($10/week) isn't enough to cover your extra expenses ($3,000/year), we shall bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles are over!" "Only the fat cats will have to pay."
Then He said, "Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let's grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free medical care, bi-lingual signs and guaranteed housing..."
And the people said, "Hallelujah!!" And they made him King!
And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers; though they sold much less of their products. Others simply gave up and went out of business, and the economy sank like unto a rock dropped from a cliff. The banking industry was destroyed. Manufacturing slowed to a crawl. And more of the people were without a means of support.
So "The One" again blamed the prior administration, extended unemployment benefits to a year, bailed out his favorite banks, and then took over the banks and auto industries. "The One" said, "I am the "The One" - The Messiah - and I'm here to save you! We shall just print more money so the government will have enough!" "Surely one trillion dollars will make everyone happy." And immediately the Fed complied and the money presses roared.
And China reconsidered their one trillion dollars of loans to the USA, and threatened to call in their debts. Other foreign trading partners said unto "The One", "Wait a minute.. Your dollar is not worth a

this can be anything from office buildings to grocery stores what are some stores or offices that demonstrate an initiative to stop global warming
thanx =)
gallon ?
Givens:
GM’S recent decision to get rid of 11 profitable lines of SUV’S and trucks and replace them with smaller more economical cars or in other words green cars. (The government now controls GM)
The democrats have quashed plans for exploration and drilling for oil and natural gas.
Obama plans to push the cap and trade initiatives that will raise prices of energy on all corporations especially the oil companies.
Addendum : I think global warming is a myth.
Hello!
So I was thinking about so many great things about our president and the one that stood was his greener environment initiative plan in his stimulus package. I think he is so great for doing that. I need some more stuff on the list like what he's done globally for the rest of the world and relations with China, etc
I don't even watch mainstream television...
I watch CSPAN and get info from the internet mostly.
Obama was just the better option.
I meant to vote for him and it was a sober decision on my part.
I agreed with funding a green energy initiative, getting the troops out of Iraq and yes... I also wanted to vote for the black guy for a change.
McCain was too old, too much of a war-hawk and too much of a friend to George W. Bush.
And Sarah Palin was a radical "charismatic christian" who is anti-gay, connected to big oil and was only chosen as a tactic to garner Hillary's voters. The plan failed.
There was no trickery going on... and nobody needs to make any excuses for me.
Why can't Republicans just accept the loss and move forward?
Imagine that last fall, before being elected, Barack Obama had outlined the positions he has embraced since being inaugurated. An honest campaign speech could have gone something like this:
"As we approach Election Day, the American people should not waste the crisis we find ourselves in.
"Consequently, if elected, I promise to get us over the Bush financial meltdown with a stimulus program that will borrow $787 billion - which, of course, will add to the already sizable budget deficit (nearly $500 billion) projected in the Bush administration's last budget.
"By March of next year, my new $3.6 trillion budget will include a spending bill with over 8,500 budget earmarks to target in-need constituents.
"In addition to the stimulus/borrowing plan, I intend to devote $634 billion to fund a new supplementary national health-care system. But that is not all. Unfortunately, the initial Bush bank bailout of some $700 billion also may well have to be augmented by an additional $750 billion.
"Although my new spending proposals may raise the federal deficit in my first year to $1.75 trillion, I promise the American people that by the end of my first term, I will halve the federal deficit - albeit adding another $3 to $5 trillion to the national debt.
"Those savings can be accomplished by upping the federal income tax to about 40 percent on those rich 5 percent of Americans who currently pay only 60 percent of our aggregate income taxes - as well as lifting Social Security caps on their payroll taxes and cutting out many of their tax deductions.
"With state income taxes, federal income tax, and Social Security and payroll taxes, along with new cutbacks in deductions, some of these rich will pay over 60 percent of their incomes in taxes. That is not an unreasonable rate in comparison with past levels - or the fact that well over 40 percent of Americans do not make enough to pay any federal income taxes.
"I expect that Wall Street may react negatively to these proposals. We may see the Dow fall an additional 2,000 to 3,000 points after I'm elected. It may descend to under 7,000 during my first weeks of office. And this may be the moment when the economy continues to cool and unemployment rises.
"But to deal with this reaction of entrenched interests, I promise a fresh team of hard-nosed American professionals - understanding that it is impossible to ensure that none have past insider connections and occasional tax problems.
"From the former Clinton administration, I will select Rahm Emanuel to run my staff. To oversee revenue, Timothy Geithner will assemble a large team at Treasury. Senator Clinton herself will run State, and I will anchor my cabinet with pros like Tom Daschle, Eric Holder, Bill Richardson, and Hilda Solis.
"On matters of protecting civil liberties, I assure the American people that I have examined the Patriot Act, the FISA accords, and renditions - and I have discovered that they, in fact, do not shred our Constitution. I will, however, shut down Guantanamo Bay - but must keep it open another year and appoint a task force to study the issue.
"Our new direction in energy policy will center on cap-and-trade initiatives that promote wind and solar power. While we won't rule out oil, gas, coal, and nuclear development, problems with greenhouse-gas emissions and nuclear waste mean that these ossified 20th-century industries - including new offshore-drilling development - must be discouraged and further taxed or regulated to subsidize our green future.
"Abroad, I promise to give America a new image. My first television interview will be with al Arabiya. Due to both new initiatives and my unique background, I can reassure them that no longer will the United States alienate the Muslim world. Our aim is to return to stable and friendly relations with the Middle East characteristic of 20-30 years ago.
"Indeed, on matters in the Middle East, I will bring back my suspended adviser Samantha Power. I look forward to her input, along with that of Charles Freeman, former ambassador to Saudi Arabia and critic of Israel, as head of the National Intelligence Council, to craft new directions in the region.
"We expect to open new dialogues with Basher al-Assad of Syria and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran without preconditions. And to further the cause of peace in the Middle East, the United States will pledge almost $1 billion to help rebuild the Gaza strip that is governed by Hamas."
Now all that would have been hope and change that we could have voted on.
Thank you, Mr. Victor Davis Hanson for your truthful words you so skillfully put into Hussein Obama's mouth.

I have no expectations that libs will be able to concentrate long enough to read this.
I have this assignment, which assumes I'm an internship in a SME, and asked to present to the management green possibilities and to suggest green initiative for the company to adopt. Anyone can help me please?
Can you give me a website which has those info?
